Ty Gwyn Holiday Rental is set in the Vale of Clwyd and at the bottom of the Clwydian Range, a series of hills in the north-east of Wales that runs from Llandegla in the south to Prestatyn in the north, the highest point being the popular Moel Famau which can be seen from the property.

The Griffin Inn

Within walking distance, you will find our locally run Griffin Inn where you can enjoy some of the local beers as well as great meals.

The Griffin Inn has been welcoming travellers and locals since the middle of the 19th century.

Just like Ty Gwyn, the Griffin Inn has recently been refurbished and has a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Why not check it out and visit them?

You will have probably seen the pub on the way here, if not you will find them if you leave Ty Gwyn and head towards the village, at the crossroads you will see the Griffin just across the road.

Jubilee Tower

Built for the golden jubilee of “mad” King George III over 200 years ago, the Jubilee Tower changed the profile of Moel Famau. The foundation stone was laid with great fanfare on Thursday, 25th October 1810, however, at that point, no design had been agreed upon.

The final design by architect Thomas Harrison was elaborate and impressive, in the soon-to-be-fashionable Egyptian style – a rectangular base with four bastions and sloping doorways, which can still be seen today, topped by an obelisk.

This monument is an absolute must when you are visiting the Vale of Clwyd and it will take about an hour and 45 minutes to walk from Ty Gwyn all the way to the tower.

St Peter's Church

The two churches in Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd shouldn't be missed!

Old St Peter is a ruin of a medieval former parish church, first recorded as Ecca de Lampedir in the Norwich Taxation of 1284 and just a short walk from Ty Gwyn and will give you a stunning view across the Vale.

The 'New' St Peter's Church is also worth a visit and is renowned for its beautiful stained-glass windows. It's just a 15-minute walk and after that why not visit the Griffin Inn for a refreshment?
